Modern root canal therapy is generally no more uncomfortable than having a routine filling. We use highly effective local anesthesia to ensure the area is completely numb. Most patients report feeling little to no discomfort during the procedure, any mild tenderness afterward is typically managed easily with over-the-counter medications.

Most standard treatments are completed in one visit lasting between 60 and 90 minutes. Complex cases may occasionally require a second appointment to ensure the best clinical result.

It is normal to experience slight sensitivity or tenderness for a few days as the tissue heals. This is usually manageable with over-the-counter pain relievers. You will be provided with specific post-operative instructions to support your recovery.
